In 1942 there were clusters of Japanese farms in "South Florin" (west of the Southern Pacific railroad, south of Gerber, down Cottonwood Lane). The Kishaba's were the last to stay in south Florin leaving in 1970.

The Jerome Relocation Cener was named after the town of Jerome, which was located one-half mile south. However, the official post office designation for the center was Denson.
