Geraldine Setsuko Nakano is in the fourth row , eight in from the left . This is the class she attended while living in Denver , Colorado . Photograph from the Nakano family album . Asataro Nakano and Misao Gyotoku Nakano immigrated from Japan in the early 1900s . They settled in West Sacramento where they purchased land to farm . Their three children include : Margaret Shigeko Nakano , Ruth Kikue Nakano , and George Asato Nakano . The Nakano family and extended family members were sent to the Amache Relocation Center during the Internment period . Upon release they settled in Denver , Colorado . Geraldine Setsuko Nakano is the daughter of George Asato Nakano and Mildred Uyemura Nakano .
