L to R : children : Kenji Matsuda , Geraldine Setsuko Nakano , June Sachiko Matsuda . Seated : Ruth Kikue Tsuruda , Mildred Yaeko Uyemura Nakano , Asataro Nakano , Misao Gyotoku Nakano , Margaret Shigeko Matsuda . Standing : George Asato Nakano , Yoshio Harry Tsuruda , Yoshiaki Matsuda . Photograph from the Nakano family album . Asataro Nakano and Misao Gyotoku Nakano immigrated from Japan in the early 1900s . They settled in West Sacramento where they purchased land to farm . Their three children include : Margaret Shigeko Nakano , Ruth Kikue Nakano , and George Asato Nakano . The Nakano family and extended family members were sent to the Amache Relocation Center during the Internment period . Upon release they settled in Denver , Colorado .
